Tuesday 4th February was World Cancer Day and CLSW was represented at the WCD event run by Torbay Council in Torquay. It was a wonderful opportunity not only to talk to members of the public, but also to meet staff members and volunteers for other organisations striving to support people living with this life-changing diagnosis and treatment.
The WCD theme for the next three years is United by Unique. It recognises that Cancer is more than just a medical diagnosis — it’s a deeply personal matter. Behind every diagnosis lies a unique human story – stories of grief, pain, healing, resilience, love and more. That’s why a people-centred approach to cancer care that fully integrates each individual’s unique needs, with compassion and empathy, leads to the best health outcomes.
