Wain Foundation Supports Additional Break

We are delighted to announce that Cancer Lifeline South West has been awarded a grant of £6,608 by the Wain Foundation to support an extra Time To Retune Break. In her letter, Kate Greenleaf, Chair of Trustees for the Wain Foundation acknowledged that the charitable objectives of CLSW “align closely with our foundation’s goals, and we believe that your work will make a significant difference in the community.”

The incidence of cancer is rising, and statistics suggest one in two of us will be affected at some point in our lives. Certainly, most of us know a close friend or family member with a cancer diagnosis. On the other hand, treatments are improving all the time. This means a lot more people will survive, which is obviously good news. But it also means the number of people wishing to attend one of our breaks is rising.

We receive no public funding and therefore fundraising is a major part of our activities. For the past few year, we have only been able to run three breaks per year, and our waiting list has grown to between 6 and 12 months. This award will allow us to run an extra break, hopefully towards the end of 2026.
